The place is themed in the usual American coffee shop way with sofas and comfy chairs.
I ordered an Americano from the rather extensive drinks menu of coffees, teas, hot chocolates etc.. and grabbed one of the sofas.
Service was friendly and speedy and the coffee, while being a touch pricey at £2.30 was very nice, not blisteringly hot and very flavoursome.
They also serve a range of sandwiches, jacket spuds and rather nice looking cakes

OURS WAS A RATHER DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. THE COFFEE WAS ONLY SLIGHTLY WARM AND THE CAKE PRESENTED AS HOME MADE HAD A HAIR IN IT!!! YUK YUK YUK!!! ON FURTHER ENQUIREY IT APPEARS THAT THE OWNER MAKES CAKES AT HOME AND BRINGS THEM IN. IS THIS ALLOWED? WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

ReplyDeletei assume you would prefer a cake from frozen, made in a factory, defrosted two days before and probably had the date changed in order to keep it stocked. a hair you say? god forbid the owner slaves over home-baked cake and one of her hairs ends up in there by accident.
your drink was cold? did you think about asking them to heat it up more. or are you disgusted at the idea of communicating with staff who must be below your level?
